Rutgersis 1-3 season both on the field and against the spread.
The Scarlet Knights will need a whale of an effort this coming weekend to break back into the win columns.
Indianahas opened as a 14-point road favorite in its Sept. 29 matchup against Rutgers at Stadium in Piscataway, according to Vegas Insider. The Hoosiers are 3-1 this season after a 35-21 loss to No. 24 Michigan State this past weekend.
Politi: Rutgers needs to go with Gio Rescigno at QB now
Rutgers has failed to cover the spread in each of the last three weeks as an underdog. The Scarlet Knights were about a 35-point underdog at Ohio State a 52-3 loss, about a 3-point underdog at Kansas 55-14 loss and arounda 6-point underdog to Buffalo this past weekend before falling to the Bulls, 42-13, for the latest humiliating defeat in a season gone off the rails.
The Scarlet Knights did cover a 16.5-point spread in the season opener against Texas State, winning 35-7.
The Hoosiers are 3-1 against the spread this season and 2-1 on the road; their first loss against the spread came to the Spartans, who were favored by 3.5. Indiana beat Rutgers, 41-0, last season in Bloomington.
Just keep working, Rutgers coach Chris Ash said after the loss to Buffalo. I mean, thats it. The process can be a painful one. It can be one thats not a lot of fun. Its not where any of us wanted to be at this moment. It is where were at, and weve just got to keep going back to work.
